Changing lives and chasing dreams – Aimee Hair

Written by: Aimee Hair | April 1, 2019

With a surname ‘Hair’, Aimee Hair may sound like a hair salon, but in fact she’s an author, motivator and online lifestyle business owner. Her goal? To help you change your life for the better.

The time is now
2019 is my most exciting year! My first publication, a children’s book titled Can You Smell the Rainbow is currently on pre-sale and comes out June 1. I am currently writing another two children’s books and a Roman-à-clef (which is a novel about real life that’s portrayed as fiction) that I hope to have published in 2020. I have an activewear line that is on pre-sale right now and will come out in May. My key focus for 2019 is building our members for Aimeehair.com.au and changing lives along the way. My members are rewarded with weekly and monthly prizes, offered helpful tools for everyday life, and inspired by videos and posts.

“Some would say bad luck follows me; I choose to see my situation as a learning tool for others.”

Life is unique
My business is wholly based on my life experiences, I use those experiences to educate and motivate my followers. I’m brutally honest and there is nothing that I’ve experienced that I won’t discuss, even the hard and embarrassing things. I’ve had not one, but two critically ill children. I have experienced divorce, learned to control severe anxiety and I’ve been sexually assaulted, to name a few. Some would say bad luck follows me; I choose to see my situation as a learning tool for others. I’ve created a business out of my ‘bad luck’ and I’m thankful for that.

Somewhere to start
A little over a year ago, I was asked to speak about my experiences with sick kids at the opening of the Ronald McDonald House Family Room at the Townsville Hospital. For years, I’ve wanted to be a motivational speaker. I’ve planned, I’ve practiced, I’ve had hours on the phone with mentors and trainers, but I just couldn’t figure out how to get going. It all seemed to click when I was asked to speak at this event. Here I am today, creating my dream.

Greatest influence
My husband. I’m a mother of three little boys, two of whom have been in and out of hospital most of their life. I am incredibly grateful for my husband and all he does for our family and the way he supports me. (He’s pretty good to look at for a distraction when work is tough too!).

‘Hey Google…’
We all know how rapidly and often the online world changes. One day we type into a google search bar, the next we are yelling out ‘hey google?’ from our kitchens. Keeping up with online trends and staying relevant to searches is a challenge for an online business. My industry is tough to crack into too; building an audience takes time, commitment, and creativity.
