Our workplaces are changing
Everything about the way we work is changing. We are entering a new era of workplaces, with changing workstyles and changing work life. Essentially these terms mean the same thing, that we are all working differently to how we used to. Fundamentally, we are always on, forever connected, with access to information from anywhere and anytime.
Our views towards our work have transformed, towards looking for greater levels of collaboration, productivity, and innovation, and our job is to empower the digital workplaces of today and help drive effectiveness and efficiencies. Ask any employee how technology can make their life easier and they may not have the answer, but how awesome would it be to enable your team to achieve greater levels of innovative thinking as well as work smarter?
What if I told you that there is a solution… That this can be done, and it is facilitated through a wide range of technologies and services including document management, connect, collaborative and IT services. Game-changing technologies and approaches including mobile apps on existing products like interactive flat-panel displays, projectors and print devices; artificial intelligence (AI) that is leveraged to enhance how people work; and reworked processes that better fulfil customer requirements.
To create a smart office of the future involves us shifting our viewpoint, from where we traditionally acquire a photocopier and a printer to do one job, to now looking at an entire series of products, technology and services that together creates digital automation and efficiencies.
A key challenge for many businesses is enabling their national and global workforces and networks to collaborate and communicate across great distances, different cultures, and different languages. At Delta, we can help them overcome this challenge by consulting with them on ways to better use current technology. New technology including an intelligent whiteboard to view written words in a language they understand. In doing this, it further enhances the level of clarity and collaboration to a team, wherever in the world they are working.
Fluid workforce
With technology removing barriers of physical locations and no limitations on hours, location or talent boundaries, many businesses require a highly agile and project-based model of work and boundless workspaces. The shape of this workforce and the nature of this work is rapidly changing and employers will have to deal with ongoing changes to meet deadlines and customer expectations. Already, 30% of the Australian workforce now requires a fluid workspace which creates opportunities as well as very different challenges for businesses.
Multigenerational workforce
Today’s workplaces currently need to cater for up to five generations, which impacts a business’ technology footprint, ability to innovate and customer experiences. The new workforce will be defined by its ability to upskill, rapidly align to complex ideas and innovate.
Currently, the team at Delta are working hard with customers to understand where the opportunities are with current customer data, and how we can fix issues through services like scan technology and cloud-based information access. Our professional team is focused on fine tuning technology for designing physical meeting spaces under a new smart office model. For example, we are increasingly able to help companies determine how to separate and equip space for meetings between just two, three, or four people.
This new technology enables people to work collaboratively, to schedule, follow-up, communicate, and coordinate who would be involved in activities relating to each meeting and project.
With so many options available, prioritisation is key to ensuring a business invests wisely and meets innovation needs while listening to what their customers actually need today. If you would like to discuss your workplace’s changing needs, we welcome you to call our team.
